New Rivalry Campaign from UT and A&M
UT and A&M just launched similar videos in an attempt to compete for Non Donor Acquisitions. They are short and fun videos highlighting the rivalry between the schools and calling alumni to action on behalf of their alma mater.

PS Pursuants own Bill Paulk, the one being closelined in UT video was nearly hurt in the production. Look for an outtakes video soon.
Video worth watching on our changing world
Vinay Bhagat, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Convio shared this video at the front end of his presentation at CASE Online Strategies Conference in Seattle yesterday. It is worth a few minutes to watch. It really embodies and highlights the changing nature of our world and culture that has implications on our communications and fundraising strategies.
enjoy.

PS When in Seattle eat as Seattle. I recommend The Palace Kitchen. Great burgers and great Pale Ale.
The Long Tail of Giving
Michael Ames, a friend and colleague at Pursuant, found 65 new donors for Central Dallas Ministries using Facebook. It is really novel if you consider he created a simple personal video asking his “Facebook Friends” to join him by fasting on Community Hunger Day and make a gift relative to the amount they would not spend on food that day. Every $4 dollars would go to feed a family of four for a day.
With the tools of production in the hands of the people, it is very possible for you to consider how to empower your constituents to leverage their own social networks to get your good word out and find new fans and donors.

CASE Online Strategies Conference
I am very excited to be attending the CASE Online Strategies Conference this week in Seattle. This is our third year being a part of this conference of University development professionals. It is a very good group and conference.
I will be leading a session called Unlocking the Heart of GOLD and highlights a piece we did with the University of South Carolina. Kudos to the visionary Lola Mauer who is the Director of Annual Giving there.
Take a look at their video vault and you can see the progression of content we created to help them cultivate their young alumni through a campaign called The Ya’ll Campaign. I think you will enjoy this diversion and might get an idea or two.
If you are in Seattle come say hello to Bill and I!
